VostroNet deploys market first Wi-Fi 6 to Student Accommodation

VostroNet has become the first network provider to deploy Wi-Fi 6 to a student accommodation building in Australia.

The network provider deployed the technology to UniLodge’s @ Royal Melbourne student accommodation site on Wreckyn Street in Melbourne last month. VostroNet is currently expanding its network in the city, deploying innovative solutions to a number of market sectors.

According to Aruba, Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) improves the performance of the entire network and increases the network capacity by up to 4 times compared to its predecessor, 802.11ac (Wi-Fi 5).

The major change between Wi-Fi 5 and Wi-Fi 6 is the OFDMA (Orthogonal
Frequency Division Multiple Access)
which services multiple devices with varying bandwidth needs simultaneously. In other words, OFDMA eliminates contention between devices, transmitting data in parallel.

It’s not the first time VostroNet has become a market leader in this space. VostroNet was first to market to deploy Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) 5 years ago. Jonathon Runge, CEO of VostroNet believes deploying the latest in technology is “crucial in being market leaders for network solutions”.

The entire VostroNet network is using 802.11ac (Wi-Fi 5) and above. We are proud to be on the forefront of innovation in this space, offering our clients the latest network solution in the market.

VostroNet has also deployed another Wi-Fi 6 based solution to the co-working space market in the last month with their deployment to ACS’s (Australian Computer Society‘s) new Bay City Labs located at 839 Collins Street Melbourne.

The network provider has now made Wi-Fi 6 a standard for deployment for its upcoming sites. By installing the latest in technology, VostroNet guarantees an advanced solution to its clients.
